Im all for the credit system being reintroduced , but maybe instead of unlocking the next vehicle on the list, just a speicifed amount to get a certain car, this i think DOES help with the teaching of how lfs should be played , racers of equal skill and experince and preference being close together would help those to adjust to the LFS difficulty curve and community.

Having the AI in place and ready is another issue but as before racing AI is one way of earning creidts , same with lessons.

I do hope its re-introduced at some point.

Sinbad i really reccomend this mod, breaths fresh life into the feel of the game, and doest take away original samples , you can set the mix between the default ingame sound and CSR.

I find there is very little lag indeed (im running opteron @2.8ghz :P)

If you dont think improvements to the sound engine will aid players then
you need your head & ears tested. (so far i see 5 people at least in this thread, posted , having a richer, maybe not more accurate sound, help them (not you) feel more connected)

To me sound is just as integral as any other part of what makes a game work. sometimes the sound can make a good game better sometimes worse, Its a tricky balance, so easy to be a critic and so hard to compliment Tweak, does that sound relative to you ?

@ tweak , you should try doing things with earplugs in for 168 hours, or better stilll glue your fingers together and to the wheel for a month also.

Dabs are good usually, a bit more expensive, but im gonna wait till its in stock properly i think, maybe see if price changes.

stats to me are important , and even if FM-Failure drives alot of oval , his stats dont lie

I find them useful to guage my performance and others. And if im honest i do like to get podium whenever i race

1) Do you get lag (delay when pressing throttle) or skipping (gaps in sound)
2) Can it be solved by changing Options/Misc/Sound Blocks setting
3) What operating system do you have, 98, XP, Vista32, Vista64
4) What hardware : sound card + drivers if you can find that info

1> yes using block level 1 or 2 (crackling skipping)
2> using 3 is fine in single player with full grid (will test online and with a larger grid soon ) , 4 + 5 work ok but the delay/lag is to large
3> testing on Vista64 (5600)
4> Realtek 850 codec (onboard nforce4 ultra) (using nvidia drivers version 6.14.465.0 (date 26/07/2005)

using u22 patch
*also i noticed in task manager , lfs is running using virtualisation process i disabled that and noticed increase in game framerates* sound remained same

I agree with many comments made , if you can learn to play a game and become "good" at it in short space of time then the point is missed (being fast is one thing being a good racer is somthing entirely different), i think main thing is "does LFS make good sim racers better " ?

I would say yes , so far this is the only game i have played in years of gaming that just gets better and better (as skill increases) not to mention the game itself with content & community.

Sound problem is still there.

Im just downloading the RC1 Build of Vista32bit , i will test U/U20 as soon as its installed and test unlocking and sound issues.
